My tach doesnt work when its cold.

The title pretty much explains it...whenever I wake up in the morning to go to work my tach does not work..nor does the amps gauge sometimes...but when I get off work around noon they both work fine....anyone have any idea what is causing this?

cold solder joints on the gauges, or dirty screw contacts on the gauges
