my story...

Well i havent really posted much besides little stuff here and their so i was going to give you a little bit of my story of rotary love haha..

A while back I had a 91 vert s5 na that was in horrible shape. Front rotors were grinding, top was torn to hell, clutch was slipping, dripped oil crazy, I bought it for 1100 and ended up selling it for the same price so i washed my hands with that one heres a pic of what the vert looked like..

Alright well just this last thursday I picked up another rx7, this one is a 86 pretty much stock man windows/locks/windows. Body is in real good shape besides the trip pieces and the rear lights. Pretty much all stock . Well the car didnt make it home. Ended up having to pull it with my friends ford ranger in san antonio at lunch time. We dropped it off at abs automotive across me just to find out what was wrong with the car. Ended up being the fuel pump. So I see how much thats going to run.. abs tells me the cheapst fuel pump they can find is 480.00 lol. I knew they were trying get my money, so i called around and found one for 125.00. I get the car back to my house start pulling the pump out and start seeing rust . Sticking my hand in the pump to the bottom their is just clumps and clumps of this built up around the fuel filter. So now my plan is to drop the tank tomorrow, drain it and go from their. Right now time is tight due to me starting a second job monday and working a job in the morning takes up most my free time. Thats just a little bit of my share of rotary love haha I have plans to swap the hole car and trans with the turbo two and make it a track/dd. Im fairly new to rotary so any suggestions are help is welcome. Heres a few pics of the 86

will get better pics soon
thx mike

Meh, I suggest you shouldn't have sold it.

Verts seem to be hards to come by in these parts, and the top could have been replaced fairly ($1000) cheaply.

true found some tops on ebay for around 450 but it had so many problems with it..
Found this one gonna stick with it like the hatch on them and the way they look with some wide tires in the back just takes time and money

I spy a T2 hood on that vert. Was it swapped or anything? If so definitely worth hanging on to, but for only 1100? Couldn't be.

Edit: I retract. Nice find on the hard top. Have the injectors cleaned when you ever can.

body wise the 86 looks like the paint was just sprayed not to long ago some over spray on the pipes..

after taking the fuel pump out and looking around in the the tank, someone it looks like put about a bucket full of dirt in the gas tank before i bought it. So we droppped the tank and sprayed it out at the car wash. Its setting right now drying out going back in either tomorrow or tuesday

Nothing good...

Check for vacuum leaks. It's ridiculous how many places these manifolds can leak from, and any leaks always cause problems.

your best bet is to follow the FSM, follow the steps one by one to find the problem.

but before that, do what other people suggested, like clean the injectors, maybe some new plugs and wires, check the coils to make sure its working, electrical stuff like see if alternator is working fully, etc.
