Mine sits almost directly in the middle of the tach. You can see all the numbers around it and most of the needle. I've been looking for a gauge pod like this and even saw the guys booth at nopi and thought about contacting them. You beat me to it. I would much rather prefer having it mount just like the RE-Amemiya pod for the FD, integrated into the column.

I think that we are both referring to two different things when we say "blocking". You are referring to blocking a useful part of the tach (numbers, pointer, etc.) while I am referring to blocking any part of the tach. It's something that you will never see in an OEM application.

Obviously, if it works for you then go for it. I just wish that some company would start making molded gauge pods to fit other parts of the car that don't block something else.

Believe me darknightFC, so would I. Unfortuantely, I dont think we can get 150 prepaid deposits of 75.00 bucks. If we could, then we could have one in a couple months.

Its not bad, but does block too much tach for me. I'd definetly buy one that was sunk into the steering column cover; like the FD one. But I'd probobly have to pass this one by.

Im going to take more pics tonight with the unit tilted and the steering wheel off. This should give you guys a better idea of its size.

Here's an updated photo. It looks a little better but I still gotta work on my angles with this camera.

they do have them. they are made by Border but FC people are too cheap. And I think more people refer to them as mickey mouse ears.

I have an Old School HKS Boost gauge (50mm) centered directly in the middle of the tach so numbers on the tach are not blocked. The gauge is mounted directly onto the factory steering column cover, but offset to the right. As the factory cover is not able to support the unit, I stiffened the cover by placing metal under the cover, but shaped to fit. Been on there for 5 years now.

On the product shown, it looks as though the gauge is centered on the cover, but it must be moved to the right to center it inside the tach.

Here's one I made by screwing a generic gauge holder onto the top cover (basically what you did).

How would this differ from the cups that autometer already sells?

my my, you're getting quite defensive. just because one/two people don't like it doesn't mean the world will end.

aaron's just saying that he'd rather NOT have ANYTHING in front of his gauge cluster.
