My ride won't crank!

Hey guys,

I tried to start my 88 GTU up this morning and it wouldn't crank. The idiot lights and radio come on, but no cranking AND no clicking. I don't really get it because I haven't had any kind of recent problems. The only thing I can think of is the fact that I used 89 Octane fuel for the first time in a while... and it rained pretty heavily overnight... oh and i think my ***** itched a little overnight too.

My bro told me to get under the car and hit the starter with a hammer, but i haven't tried that yet.

What do you guys think?

I really appreciate your time.

Chris

What's your battery voltage?

If battery is good, jumper your clutch interlock switch in front of the clutch pedal there (pull its connector off & jumper the pins on the connector), see if that helps...

Whacking the starter with a hammer might do something but as I recall, the lights usually dim and it clicks when it requires the hammer whacking. I don't think I've seen many starters that have just fallen on their face either. I'm with wayne to check out the petal sensor. My car will not start unless I push the petal to the floor and push pretty damn hard on it. Good luck.
