My Rex got OWNED!!!

Okay, so this morning I headed out to my friends house to solve the RX7 problems... First off, we did the exhaust system...Sounds EVIL! Then we pulled the intake manifold off and voila!!! The ground sitting on top of the block was loose and dirty. We cleaned it off and bolted it on nice and tight! Not to mention, I installed new O-Rings for my leaky secondaries and that was that! The car is driving like it never has and sounds so sick! I love it! Thanks to EVERYONE that has helped me out, especially Wayne!!! Thanks Again!

I'm glad it worked out for ya...A valuable lesson for all rx7 owners is that the most important ground on your car, for driveability & performance, is that rear rotor housing ground. Mazda wanted it to be as close to the injectors as possible, I understand that part, but they could have designed the actual contact surfaces better. That rat's nest area is just begging for dirt & corrosion.

Depending on how dirty the top of your engine is, you can see it with a flashlight by looking from the front left side, forward of the BAC, below the dynamic chamber, right at the top left side of the rotor housing. Can't really do anything to it until you remove the UIM, though...

It IS possible to get to it from the rear of the motor, where the coolant lines run to the back of the UIM. However, you can only tighten the bolt from that position. If you had to clean it you would need to remove the UIM. All in all, it took 15 minutes!

well my motor is dead, so i'm sure the entire manifold will be coming off. not only that, i'm swapping manifolds, too. thats irrelevant since i'm doing the rebuild, just thought i'd throw that in there. well maybe later i'll find it and make sure (maybe double sure!) that its well grounded (or 2).

Owned... evil... sick...

I expected a thread about someone's RX-7 getting plowed by a SUV or something.

*confused* *mutters something about young whippersnappers corrupting the English language*

Glad it's working. :-)
