My Reborn FC Comes Back In 3 Weeks

Hi,

I was in a big car accident in my Series 4 which had 504rwhp. It really made me think about how much power is safe. I am only 19 years old and I am trying to keep the 1 point left on my licence in tact. I am getting my car painted black and I ordered the shogun body kit and rear spoiler today it cost me $2000 Austrlian, it hurt. I can't wait to get my car back but now a tad worried about driving it. The car has a t66 on a 13B all modded up. I just wanted to ask some of you guys about any driving ideas. With 350bhp it was pretty nuts. But know i'm not sure what to do to keep me alive or my importantly my girlfriend. In 3 weeks i'll be driving around again in it. Im not sure weather to race it as it's my only car to be used every day. Any ideas would be great.

Cheers
Chris

I think you should unbolt the compressor side/center section of your turbo, put a blockoff plate on the exhaust housing, block off/reroute all appropriate oil, water, and intake air passages, and run your beast NA on the street to keep yourself out of trouble(it should still be faster than a stock NA). IF you want to go race, or when your situation improves some, bolt the rest of the stuff back on.

That, or just get an NA header and a section of exhaust that will bolt up to your catback, and swap out systems as needed. IT could easily be done in a couple of hours, one way or another.

everybody calm down

lilpeenoiracer, welcome to the community. i dont have any advise to you but to keep the races on the tracks. after that accident you had.. i would assume you realized how dangerous it is to mess around on the streets. if you're worried about your girlfriend.. have her sit and watch you take it on the tracks. if not for you and your girlfriend. at least think about other people on the public roads.

It kinda pisses me off that people are so quick to call BS on something like this. If he really didnt have a 504whp Rx7, he wouldn't have said he crashed it, he would have been bragging about it. How obvious is that? Nothing about his first post set off any kind of questioning in my mind.

I guess I'm a little confused since you said 504 and then mention it being nuts with 350.... Eitherway, 504 RWHP is a TON of power. probably also with a T66, having no idea what your boost response lookslike, it probably hits like a train at 4500RPM or so.

My recomendation, turn the boost down for the time being. If you're running WG spring pressure, then get a different spring. That's cheap and will keep you out of trouble till you learn to handle the power.

My car dyno'd ~467RWHP and I have the boost turned down to make ~400 on the street... and even less as I am trying to learn to control the car though corners on the track. Then just turn up the boost as you get used to it.

My$.02

Sorry for calling BS but you have to admit that it is somewhat hard to believe that a teenager has a monster FC like yours. How did you pay for all of it anyway? I might have to change professions.

I do alot of Web Design and build computers for a living at the moment as well as alot of UNI. I just love these cars and I put all my money into it. It would have cost $15,000+ so far to get it right. Theres a hell of a lot more than than just the turbo been moddifed. To much to list. Oh yeah those are Aussie $$. I am just so badly wanting my car back. Do you guys think black is good or another color.

Cheers

do they measure horsepower the same there? like you never hear/see american numbers said as (bhp). horsepower (and watts) vary from country to country sometimes. not saying 504 is like under 300, just a little different.

Horsepower is the same wherever you are (as long as you believe dyno readouts! ). In Australia though we use the metric system so most people talk about killowatts as opposed to horsepower.

1 killowatt equals 1.34102 horsepower.

So 500hp is about 373kw's.

Sam.
