FD vs FC?

Im hitting some rough times and been thinking of getting rid of my FD. If do I would like to get an FC Turbo II.

How would it perform vs the FD on the twisties specifically.

Would pulling 350 Hp out of it be very difficult?

Any other comments would be greatly apprecaited.

BTW my brother has a FC 1988, N/A slow, but it seems fun. I like the look just as much as the FD so Im mainly concerned about perfomance.

front mount IC, upgraded injectors, good exhaust, t04, and microtech should get you to 350 hp @ the wheels give or take, may need to be ported.

FD should take the corner better, but the FC is still good at it

Getting 250-350 at the wheels is not too too hard really. Get a To4 or a T3/4, front mount, fuel upgrades as needed, standalone, exhaust, intake....you'll be good to go for a wicked fun car that is fast as hell. Throw in some good suspension and your laughing and have a very strong all around package that will bring lots of happiness.

Good luck with it.

Are there any IN MOTOR difference, between the Turbo II and the FD? How about the UIM are they not a bit different?

I think the only thing the same between the engines is the E-Shaft and the rotors, everything else is different though I beleive. Could be wrong, may want someone else to chime in with more info on that one.

The S6 rotors are different, they are lighter. The ports are also larger on the REW and it also has dowel pins for increased strength when the boost rises, the UIM is different in shape but I don't know about the flow.

V8 FC in anycase, I say do it!!! its hell of a lot cheaper then a fd, won't handle as well but will be much more fun as you can slide it/race it and nobody will care if you smash it in to a wall, just buy another 200-500 dollar shell and swap everything over you can also park it where every you wish cuz and not worry about it as nobody will get jeleous of your car and vandalize it or try to steal it, they will probally be more intrested in your stereo system as FC's are cheaper then 80's civics hahaha (sad but true). FC's own!

I thought the S5 and S6 rotors were the same.

I know S4's have heavier rotors though.

They weigh the same, and have the same compression ratio, and can be swapped visa versa, but they each have a different part number. They're probably milled a little differently.

Kouki turbo rotors and FD rotors are the same weight.

That's true.

and it also has dowel pins for increased strength when the boost rises,
The dowel pins are designed almost identically for all the 13B engines.  There are differences in boss thickness/strength, but otherwise they look very similar.  I dunno who told you this myth.

the UIM is different in shape but I don't know about the flow.
FD upper is designed for low-end power.  TB plates are 3 x 45mm for FC, and 45mm + 2 x 50mm for FD.  Airflow potential is certainly higher for the FD, strictly by the numbers.
