My quest for more fuel - Water temp mod (How do I??)
I need smart people to give all the information they can about tricking the ecu that the engine is cold. This is one for the archives.
I have heard that the primaries duty cycle platous at about 55% and that only the secondaries will hit 85%. I have heard breaze about some guy with a black FC creating his own SAFC by using variable resistors hooked to the water temp sensor. For those who dont know its the green connector right behind the water pump. Does this sensor go to stock temp guage??
If this will richen the mixture safely (keep duty cycle below 85%) then I will make some sort or variable "pot" resistor located inside the car for when I go dyno tuning or something. Actually it would just be a good idea so the duty cycle will even out on all 4 injectors.
Gotta put up with this stock ecu for a little while longer. Ive got fuel mods and performance mods. Just want another way to richen things up a bit.
Damn this stock fuel system.. Damn it all...

thats an old skool mod, the miata guys do it too.
the temp sensor for the ecu and the gauge are seperate (the gauge sender is next to the oil pressure sender). look at the specs for the sensor in the shop, manual i think you have to add resistance and it will run richer. also keep in mind that once the secondaries come online all 4 injecotrs have the same duty cycle.

I was told that the primary injectors max out at 55% duty cycle. I was like, NO WAY, and he was like ya way so my information might be incorrect.
OK so this mod would only really help out on the bottom end, since I've heard the safc has trouble increasing fuel.
OK next!!

I'm pretty sure its from Paul Stoakes, the fellow who did the diy fcd. Its a combination of the fcd and the water thermo sensor.
Never done it myself. Just the fcd. I find I'm running rich at 10psi, so why add more fuel? Running afr of 11.2 at 10psi, full throttle, up hill(good load).
