my proposed fan solution...
Ok, so my e-fan stopped working. I was driving down to Kileen from Arlington, Texas (about a two and a half hour drive), and she made it in one piece, but as soon as I got there she started getting hot; So, I pulled over and shut her down and found out that the e-fan wasn't spinning. The wiring was good, it was getting juice, it just.... broke.
My proposed solution:
I've still got those four bolts coming off of the water pump pulley, so I was thinking of just ripping off the fan from the electric motor, drilling four holes and voila! Kinda like the clutch fan without the clutch! Can anyone think of any reason why this would not work? Iv'e got an aftermarket Griffin aluminum radiator, and the fan would be sitting maybe 6 inches off the radiator; that distance is the only thing that is bothering me.... Any thoughts?

The blades on an electric fan are designed to move air at high rpms. Around 3000rpm on the electric motor. They do that to move as much air as possible without needing a large motor.
Slower then that, and you wont move much air. Faster then that, well I don't know about the structual integrity of the blades and if there is a point to which it just ont move any more air.

soooo either drive at 3000 everywhere, or do it right the first time.
Do it right the first time, don't be cheap. You can even do it right by going to a junk yard and getting another efan. :P
