My Project

About two months i bought a N/A that needed some TLC off a forum member. so far i havent really done awhole lot to it except tear stuff apart. i even found a living mouse in the stock air box with i went to change the filter. i was wondering why there was a mouse nest and **** laying around but anyways i bought the car with fouled up brakes (seized), no seats (they were stolen), and messed up passengers side fender, and who knows what ive yet to find and so far im loving every minute of this car. (this car that ive yet to drive). but enuff of my blabing about how much i love this car cause i know we all do. im just gunna show some pics of what ive done so far.

i took off my rear brake rotors tonight and im going to sandblast them tomorrow hopefully they'll clean up well so i dont have to replace them for atleast a few months. i bought some eibach springs and im looking for some struts to go with them but i havent desided what im going to get yet.

so this is my project. i havent done much yet but i still thought id share what i have done so far ;-)

Cool. I don't really know where those street are. I'm located about 90 miles north of you. I've been through Lancaser a couple times...

Hopefully we'll see you at the Tri-State RX-7 Club meeting this summer?

the springs and 60k tune up stuff got here from mazdatrix yesterday now im waiting on the brembo rotors i ordered from gothamracing hopefully those will get here today. since the last time i posted ive ripped off the passengers side fender and snaped the retainer (it was damaged from the accident) holding the bumper and fender together i hear this it pretty common thing to break. anyone know were i can pick one up? i looked on mazdatrix but couldnt find it. ive also started taking the old suspension stuff off and wow its rusted and looks worn out. other then that ive just been trying to clean up the engine bay as best i can. im crossing my fingers that i'll be able to take her out for the first time this weekend.

the brakes and shocks are done. KYB AGX adjustables, ST springs, brembo drilled slotted rotors, rebuilt calipers.
http://invisiontec.com/images/rear2.jpg
im also in the process of doing a tune up. which time permiting will be done tomorrow. ive replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, changed the oil. i just need to flush the radiator tomorrow and a few other things. ive been chasing wiring demons outa my car the past few days which have mostly been bad grounds and lose connections. finding this like this http://www.invisiontec.com/images/notgood.JPG doesnt make me feel good about the prior upkeep of this car.

Where the hell does that wire go(that's dangaling between the fuel filter and starter, right?)?? I noticed the same exact wire dangling there when I replaced my starter. I don't know if it affects the drivability(or what it even does) because I blew my engine and haven't been able to start it(rebuild in process.Buying parts as I get money).

that wire mounts to your clutch slave cylinder as a ground. un-do the bolt towards the driver side on the slave cylinder, pull it out, slide that over the bolt and re-insert it. i ve already explained it to russ. and nice work russ... keep up the good work on it man.

TURBO SWAP!!!. thats what im doing right now. I found myself a 13bt w/89,xxx mi on it with tranny and new clutch w/ 5spd tranny, w/ ecu, no upper intake, no harness, with whole rear and front subframe. all for $600 + $300-400 shipping. then i suggest upgrading the hood to a turbo II hood ($250) average price. you already have turbo II mirrors. A paint job is always a nice touch. im getting a wide body kit for mine off ebay for $650 plus shipping. upgrade the fuel, get a s-afc to get rid of any lag that your prob going to run into fuel wise, and put some no2 on her. my opinion

Keep restoring and fixing all the little problems.

Looks like you've got the suspension and brakes covered for now. What about a rim and tire package?

You do know that your stock oil pressure gauge is reading next to zero? At idle you should be above 30 PSI. Might want to check into that. Probably just the oil pressure sending unit is disconnected. Check the wire directly below the oil filter.

what kinda oil are you using?? i'm guessing lower viscosity oil would give you lower oil pressure?
