My Problems.
I dont know if i can handle this rx7 much longer.
I have numerous problems, alot i have dealt with. And more that need tending to. If you wouldn't mind tellin me whats up with problem i would be very thankful.
1) when shifting from 1st to 2nd at a very very low speed or 3rd to 4th i heard a thump, in the rear end i'm wondering if it's going to cost me alot. I dont know what it is
2) hesitation. As for the hesitation it varies it can happen at any RPM just for 1/2 a second but it really pisses me off. Accel really quick and then i feel a lug lug lug. Dont know what that could be.
3) I dont know where the freakin fuel filter is for the car. I need to change it. and never needed to change it but now i do. and i can't find it!
4) last one, 5th and 6th ports. I have a race pipe with two racing mufflers on the back. And they are not working. Possibly because they are rust coloured or just not enough backpressure. I got my mom to sit in the car and i revved it she told me what the revs were at. but no, they didn't turn on.
P.S. The actuators are at the bottom of the block on the left hand side- Correct?
Thanks alot guys, evan

1. Could be a differential mount, driveshaft, etc. Search about that specific problem because someone just had a post on that.
2. Hesitation can be from lots of things as well. The bad fuel filter, dirty air filter, old plugs/wires, dirty fuel injectors. So just do a full tuneup.
3. Fuel filter is on the drivers-side under the car near the front tire. Just jack the car up and follow the fuel line until you see it. Its a fairly small black cylinder.
4. You can try working them free, or wire them open until you decide to fix them. This could be part/all of your hesitation problem.

Yup, still here

Don't the 5th and 6th ports have to be under load to open? I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that revving the engine wouldn't open the ports.
I thought mine were locked as well, so I worked them around a bit, and then covered the actuator shafts in grease, and went for a hard drive. When I got back, you can clearly see that the rods had gone in and out. The grease on the rods was all smeared and pushed to one end.
I also had some major TPS problems that was killing my acceleration and causing a bad hesitation. I would adjust it properly with the light or multimeter on the green connector, and the car would be alright for a bit, and then get worse again. The TPS finally went so bad that it was no longer adjustable, and the car wouldn't run. I put another one on, adjusted it, and it was better but not alright. The trick that I finally found was to get the car nice and warm with a good drive, and then adjust the TPS with a multimeter at the actual sensor. Unplug it, and make sure you get 1 ohm at idle, and about 5 ohms at wot. Since then, it has been beautiful.
I agree with Ryde or Die though, a fuel filter change would be the first place to start. It is pretty much under your feet when your driving the car. And a general check of all the plugs/wires as well.

yea do a full tuneup and atleast change the fuel and air filter and spark plugs/wires. my fuel filter was gold tho not black..but none the difference, in the same place on the drivers side firewall area with a hose on the to and bottom, might want to prime(?) the system and get the fuel out before you do it. on the rear drivers speaker follow the wire coming from the fuel pump and unplug the connector while the car is running and let it die. then when you unplug the hoses might want to stick a bolt in each one to keep the excess fuel from coming out..that junk burns your skin when laying in it, yea i know im a dumbass
