custom FMIC installed and running, lotsa pics

still need to finish a few things, like painting the pipes red, need to get the ends beeded still, gota remove the stock IC bracket.

havn't gone for a good run yet... so can't comment yet.

starion core off ebay. $52usd
got 2.5" pipes out the side, blocked the stock holes, and had the brakets welded on for $40usd.
two 2.5" dyno max U bends and a 2" one $45usd.
welding pieces together after I cut and matched them $10-15usd
silicon (1' of 2.5" and a 2" to 2.5" reducer) and clamps $60usd

total, $212 usd

the AWS is being removed. the air supply valve line was rerouted back into the new piping. (went into the stock IC)

**** I'll gve you 300 bucks plus shipping....if you could make me one, did you have to modify the p/s bracket? I'm going to take mine off I think if I go front mount, I figure once I have done everything I can to get the most safe boost, then I will install water injection to get every last hp out of my car...

heh, some results I think it droped my boost 1-2 psi. I was kinda expecting that. longer pipes, more bends, and cheap core however I think it's faster, even though it's less boost. so now I just gota raise it back up 1-2 and it should be even faster.

and it's pretty cold out today. so it'll make a bigger diff in the summer

temps barly changed... maby like 1-2F over not having the IC there. and I've got lots of air moving mods comming soon which should drop it lower then what it was before.

well, it should be quicker or as quick as before w lower boost. you should be able to make as much power as a stock IC w less boost w/ a larger IC, especially a FMIC. The starion unit is cheap but it's a good bargain upgrade as it's fairly large. We used to have one on a 240Z we converted to a turbo w a nissan 280zx manifold and a T3/T4. 18 psi = 12.0 w that IC

I couldn't really tell any lag diff... maybe a tad. and ya as I said it droped a psi or 2 I think... which is ok cause it was creeping too much anyways hehe

the increased lag will be gone when I get my BDC throttle body
