Exclamation My pilot bearing is loose in my e-shaft

What should I do about this? I guess I took too much out when my old bearing got stuck in it (dremmel) is this a terrable thing? I was reading into it, seemed the only thing that usually happens if the pilot bearing is loose is that you can slip out of high gear... I know this is a much better scinereo than me having a seized bearing in the shaft, so what should I do? nothing?

It seems like the front is loose and the back it is "sticking" I am about to just put it in and see how it turns out. If anyone wants to advise me otherwise they should do so now.

I'd measure it & get some brass shim stock to achieve a light press fit.
I wonder if during a previous clutch job, they had the same problem & maybe glued it in?

The pilot bearing is only rolling wheh the clutch is depressed.

I got it pressed in there, I cant pull it out, but it wiggles a bit on the tranny shaft.

forget the last post edit isnt working for me..., I got it in there and I cant pull it out, I can put the tranny shaft in there and it seems ok, if I move the tranny shaft on it then it will move back and forth slightly. how far should it be in there?

I assume the fit is tight enough so it won't back out in use.
The wiggle will self center.

You are good to go...

Until the bell housing meets the engine.

it's common to get them stuck, i've had a HELL of a time getting it out each time (on my 4th tranny but the centerforce DF and the RB aluminum flywheel is A ok). you can try the grease trick, that helps but it can get very very messy. each time I'm just had to chisel it out, it SUCKS!! once it's out I just carefully clean the area of the shaft with the dremel and pop a new one in.

Well I put the tranny and the engine together, they seemed to mate ok, took some wiggleing, then again it took some wiggleing to get them loose so I assume they are ok. I got a little video of the engine not running but me spinning the flywheel and getting some awesome "wooshage". Then I put the tranny and engine together and spun it trying to listen for any weird noises, nothing yet, so ill keep my fingers crossed.

I'd replace the pilot bearing. Get a pilot bearing puller when you do it. It's a bitch/near impossible to do without.

I'm assuming that you're installing a new pilot bearing. If the new pilot bearing is loose in the eshaft, than put some locktite between it and the eshaft but don't get any locktite inside the bearing.
