My new wheels! need some help

hey guys, i know this probably seems like it should belong in the non technical, but i have 2 quick questions to accompany my pictures of my new wheels...

so i wanted a more aggressive offset in the rear, i got a 38, the other option was a 28 the salesmen talked me out of it saying i would have to roll the fenders so now i'm in the market for some spacers, anyone know a good place to get spacers and what a good size would be? i was thinking 10mm in the rear and 5mm in the front..
i know i need to lower it to make it really look good..

my last question and what im really needing an answer to and some help with is theres a really bad rotating sound, almost like my brakes are all grinding or something, this is new after i put the wheels on, any ideas? i used hubcentric rings, 73-59.6 rings and they fit on snug but i'm wondering if they have anything to do with this awful sound im hearing, any feedback is much appreciated!

expect more pics to come soon after a wax and a photoshoot with my friends fd

How wide are they? 38 is a stock offset. I would have gone with the 28 offset wheels dependign on the width.

Looks great, nice ride. Now you need some springs!

You're probably gonna have to roll those front fenders without spacers.

You could space the rear, but I would lower first then do some measuring before I bought spacers.

^^ He fixed it, it was the dust shield rubbing.

Deff need a drop asap. What kind of wheels are those? They look pretty good, how heavy are they?. IMO, those stock wheels you have look good when the car is completely slammed.

Excellent point. With that offset, you should check to make sure they are not rubbing rubber on the struts. I had to space my front TII wheels with 225/50/16 because of the tire rubbing the front struts. 5mm.

No shame in having good looking wheels that meet your needs.

I like the Tokico blues, don't know about the springs.

It looks silly jacked up so high with those wheels. Lower it a good bit before worrying about spacers.

so i did some feeling around and the fronts are extremely close to rubbing the springs, if not actually slightly rubbing, so would some 5mm spacers be good? or should i got bigger? also, still curious as to what size spacers would be recommended for the rear? i'm looking at dropping it soon.

I have a set of 5/15 spacers I would sell pretty cheap. Say $10 and we could arrange a pickup to avoid freight. Not the double lug nut type, this is the exact set:

Be careful with the GF210 springs with that offset. If you are close to rubbing on the springs with the stock setup it will probably rub on the GF210 spring. The lower coils on the GF210 are wider than the stock coil spring. I run a 225/45/17 on 17x8 +35 wheels and they barely clear the gf210. The tire also rubs on the bottom of one of the coils of the spring under heavy cornering.

:o( should have gone with the 28 offset. Check your front clearance on the front strut. I can gaurantee that it is extreemly close at best.

Next time ask RX7club before believing a salesmen.

The rims do look great though.

If you're getting any rubbing, you should see a mark on the inside sidewall of the tire. I had the slightest rub with some old +38 16X8 wheels upfront and I got a very visible mark on the tire before I switched to a different wheel. I didn't hear or feel anything when I was driving either.

If you don't have any rubbing, I wouldn't bother with any spacers. The wheels look pretty flush already. The fronts even seem to be sticking out a hair past the fenders.

I like the looks of your new wheels, and agree there's no shame in an affordable wheel that meets your needs.

What sizes are your tires? You'll have to let us know how you like the Nankang tires. We had some on my wife's Infiniti and they were OK, but didn't have a lot of wet grip.
