Wow, that is a clean interior. Wish mine looked like that. And wtf is with all the plastic pieces still being intact. I didn't think 7's like that existed.

nice looking car, and i'd keep a comfortable interior too, i'd probably get those factory seats wrapped in some nice leather if I were you, but w/e. And the paint looks better in the pics than you describe. Turbo II's are so much fun, or rather can be, and your modification plans sound really nice, although that's a lot of horsepower! (depending on your purpose for it). Too bad you don't have the three spoke steering wheel they are so hot, imo. you should post pics of it's progress sometimes, it's always entertaining.

It was a tradeoff. I got good plastic pieces but everything else is ****

Yeah, when I get into the modding Ill start keeping up with the pics and post them occasionaly here. i probably will get the seats done in leather eventually, as soon as the twill ones start to wear out lol

Woot. Ok, got some updates. I guess this thread is a semi project update thread too. I got some stuff in today.

Rtek 1.8 just got in
Pulsation Damper
Gaskets to go along
New fuse block, mine was cracked in half
2 of my 4 720cc Greddy injectors.

So now all i wait on are my other 2 injectors. RX7store yet again messed up my order... so now I gotta wait probably till mid next week to get her back on the road. Then soon to come my BNR Stage 3 and RB turbo back system. Im happy to finally have things rolling. Only time now till I see my first goal of 300hp.

QUESTION! Are fuel injector grommets usually reusable? I thought the injectors would come with all hardware but they didnt. So now I gotta order o-rings and grommets, unless the grommets are still in good shape and reusable

BUMP! Im not being impatient, I just need some info so I can get my car back on the road asap. Question above ^^^. Got my greddy injectors and they came with no orings or anything. Also, whats the deal with the air bleeds? Mazdatrix says they break often when you remove them. Im not liking the price and I doubt they have to be removed unless they are attached somehow. Ive never dealt with any RX7 fuel injection system. Thanks in advance, SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HELP ME!!!

I wouldn't touch the air bleeds if they are installed and not cracked, butchered up.

The grommets should be PLIABLE. IF they are HARD, get new ones or you will have air leaks at the injectors.

Use new o'rings. Or if you insist on using the old ones, at least pressurize the fuel rails for fifteen minutes with the upper intake manifold off so you can see if you have any seepage/wetness.

are the airbleeds just sitting inside the UIM where the injectors seat? so they dont snap onto the injectors or anything? Im planning on not touching them unless needed. I guess ill just not cheap out and buy all new grommets and orings. orings of course, but i wasnt sure about how grommets were supposed to be

First of all, there is no need to order much of anything from Mazdatrix. Certain things they stock cannot be had from Mazda anymore, but for most things, call up Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda.

Malloy Mazda's number: (703)-490-8170

Ask for Ray Crowe..do not accept being dispatched to any other parts person. When you get Ray, make sure you note "I'm on the RX7club" --- this gets you a substantial discount.

Order from him only! You get free overnight shipment, and if you are on the East Coast, will get your package normally the next day (if you order before like, noon I would guess). Normally I get mine without 1-2 days, which is about 1 week faster then ANY other vendor I know of..2 weeks on Racing Beat..

-------------------------

If you MUST reuse the injector grommet's/ o-ring's to get it back on the road, you can do this, but I must say, it should be temporary at best (less than 2 weeks, or so).

Spray the o-ring/grommet down with WD-40 throughly, quickly put it on the injector, and put it in its place. Try and get both injectors in BEFORE it dries. The WD-40 is an oil while it is wet, so the rubber with be pliable and expand while it is wet. If you get them in, and the rail bolted down before they are dry, they should dry and form a proper seal, at least for the time being.

Has worked many times for me..but again, I would reccomend changing to new o-ring/grommets ASAP after doing this. Oh and, this was on my T2, running 12psi, just to give you an idea of how much fuel was flowing through mine.

Note: If you CAN wait the week or so to get new o-ring/grommets, then by all means do that. Much safer..

Small update on my cars situation. Today I was able to remove all 4 injectors and replace 2 of them, cause I do not have the other 2 yet. Not until tomarrow anyway. I also was able to replace all the fuel lines and Pulsation Damper. I found out for sure what my flooding problem was, as If I didnt already know what it was.

You can see the cracks in the pintle cap and fuel would be constantly pooring out no matter what. So thats why the car was always running rich and having starting issues.

Anyway, tomarrow I should be getting my other 2 injectors and installing them, then bolting it all back up and maybe have her running by Tuesday afternoon, I hope anyway! Been so long since Ive driven her I forgot what she sounded like

looks like a solid t2!

i would go through the fuel system, clean/flow your stock injectors, replace any cracking fuel line, and replace the stock pulsation dampner
uhm. some nice new stock NGK plugs and spark plug wires.
definately go w/ the rtek before any mods

if you can, replace your flywheel w/ at least a lightweight steel one. makes a HUGE diff on t2s. the stock flywheel is sooooooooooooooooo heavy. i think its about 28lbs. its a POS brick.

interior looks pretty good, looks like a good t2
congrats
