my new baby won't start! help!!! please
hi, guys, I just bought this 90 auto vert not that long ago. just put in a used auto tranny last week. and it ran fine until last night. I parked the car(cut off) and closed the top. and then tried to start it. it wouldn' start. no cranks and no response at all. I assume the battery is ok since the headlights and top are working fine. and I noticed the alternator works fine too(14.7v at running)
so, this morning, I went to store for a new starter, and put it in. same thing, no response!!:-(
any idea where to start? I double checked the starter is properly connected.
help!!!

This is assuming you have no power at all. But i'd say check your battery terminals. Take them off and clean them really good. Then reseat them. I had a similar problem, I turned the key but the car would not respond. Took the battery terminals off and made sure they were seated and tight. Car started right up. Either that or your Main Engine Fuse

thanks for the reply.
but I was able to turn the headlight on, I assume the battery is ok. with the key in igition, all warning light are on, then turn off. and the battery voltage is 12.7 with digital voltmeter.
any clue?

Are you getting voltage to the starter? Is the starter getting juice when the key is turned? Take a cable and try and start it from underneath! (In park, parking brake engaged, key in ON position)
