I'm assuming you have an 86-88? I have drawings for one, but I don't know what I did with them. I know they're at home and I'm 2 hrs away at school, but since so many people have asked, I'll see if I can get someone to look for them and scan them in. Once I have drawings (assuming it's laying around somewhere where a family member can find it), you just need to have someone that can machine parts run it on a lathe and a mill. I believe those are the only machines it needs run on, but I can't be sure. My dad ran it for me out of aluminum and it fits like a glove. It took him about 5 hrs to get the machines set up and run it though, so it's not even feasible to have him run more than I need for the purpose of selling them.
If you don't want to wait, you can just measure (REALLY ACCURATELY) the distance between hole centers, diameters of holes and locate them precisely on the piece. It's not bad, but it takes some good measurements. Mine were on the order of a thousandth of an inch and I made sure to overdefine it just to check myself. Good luck

yeah... good point boost... you can get an HKS adapter if you don't feel like doing the whole thing yourself, but I was more adventurous

buy a 4" plumbing pipe "cap" drill 4 holes in it, cut the middle out. buy a filter with a 4" hole. done

I made one for my Cosmo, which had a similar (but slightly smaller) AFM to the S4. I used 3mm SS plate for the AFM flange, a 10mm length of 75mm SS pipe for the neck the filter clamps to, and 1.5mm SS sheet to make the 75dia-50sq transition to join them. If you did technical drawing at school, plotting the shape of the transition on paper to use as a template is easy. Then all you need is a mate with a sheetmetal workshop (complete with TIG welder) and a box of beer!

Most common cone filters are 3" diameter. SO you need a 3" adaptor. Go to lowes/homedepot and get a conduit hub for a large outside fusebox. There should be some metal ones, get the 2.5" version. IT will be threaded inside, but it doesnt matter. The outside diameter will be damn near exactly 3". All youll have to do are tweak the mounting holes to line up with the afm. I agree, if youre placing an order for some stuff then just buy the proper adaptor, but if you just come up needing one int eh middle of the weekend, then go get one of these, it works perfectly.

I got my adaptor form the local Honda dealer. The Honda dealer i went to had a book that you could order after market parts from. My adaptor was for a 1996 toyota, so it said on the box. I then just got a 3 inch filter to fit on the end.
Sounds ok. they dont sound as loud as an integra or civic.

All i did bc i didnt feel like waiting on the part to be shipped was just got a plastic license plate adaptor and cut it in a square, then cut a 3" circle in it (or the outside diameter of a 3" peice of PVC), then got a small peice of 3" PVC and epoxied it in there and sanded lightly with the dremel. Ghetto , but you cant even really see it and it worked fine. cost=0+ about 10 minutes of tinkering.

Double that price to ship it to NZ, double it again to convert to our weak-*** dollar, than wait a month for it to cross the Pacific. Or buy a box of beer and spend a day playing with tools and welders in the workshop. No contest...

A month to cross the pacific? Try 2! I ordered my Adapter on August 16th from RX7 Store.net, and it STILL hasn't been shipped! I realize that it's probably on backorder from HKS, but really - 6 weeks is far too long to have to wait for this kind of part. The only reason I ordered it new was because I didn't see any on ebay, or in the F/S forum, and I needed it quickly. So now I just have to wait....and wait........

There is now, but when I made that I didn't even know that adaptor existed. Plus the Comso's AFM is smaller anyway, so it wouldn't have fitted. Besides, making it myself was alot more fun (Kiwi's have a thing about DIY) and my folded stainless steel looked sooo much better than cast aluminium!

hIGGI, your own cargo agent is great, but I'm only brining parts into Canada from the States! The shipping isn't really the problem, as I too have connections with freight carriers - shipping my engine across Canada cost $30 insured! My problem is that I've waited almost 6 weeks for the parts to even be shipped! And I'm still waiting.

PS, what do you have up your sleeve? 300 lbs is a lot of goodies, what are they?

Mmmmmmm. Sounds like I might have to make a trip to NYC, and "accidentally" change that shipping address from Prague to Ottawa!
