Angry My girls TII is pi__ing me off HELP!

Here's the deal I was installing her new A.Mtr A/F guage last night and when I went to hook up the Purple/Signal wire to the ECU I cant find a signal. My book shows the wire for the O2 is
GY= Green w/Yellow.
When i hook up the Purple wire to the O2 directly the guage works fine. My consern is that her ECU isnt seeing a signal, Has anyone had a similar prob? What color is the wire in the engine bay for O2? I assume the same color, Key word (Assume)
I cant refer back to my cars harness since it is from a jspec 929 and is slightly diferent.

88'TII And thanks for any input.

IF youre that worried about it, run your own wire fromt he o2 sensor directly tot he ecu pin designated for the o2. Possible wiring may be damaged somewhere, adn since its only a 1 wire feed, it would be so much easier to do it yourself and be done.

when the gauge is hooked up at the 02 sensor. do the lights flash back and forth while cruising? if so the ecu is getting a signal. if not, then it's not. run a new wire from the 02 to the ecu. I had to.

Which wire at the ecu is for the O2 sensor? I've got an '89 TII also. Right now mine is hooked up to the O2 wire under the hood, but I've been told you get a more accurate reading when hooked up to the ecu. Thanks.

what guage wire should be used to rewire the o2 sensor directly to the ecu plug pin?

i'd imagine that 18 - 22 guage wire ought to do the trick!

your g/f has a T2? im jealous. none of my girls have ever driven anything resembling a sports car, much less a car like a T2. oh sorry for getting off the subject here. to answer, sounds like you need to run a new wire to the ECU.
