My first rebuild

We'll start from the beginning of the process, taking everything apart! Summer, 2010

first things first, get it out.

Ramon not only let me borrow his engine lift, but also helped disassemble.

Breaking into the front cover

Rotor 1, which had 0 compression all around.

All torn apart that was the easy part.

My new housing was NA so I had the fun time of swapping the exhaust bevels. Joy.

Getting ready to port the wastegate

I winged it and just matched where the flapper door sealed against the port, seemed to work. I used the Pineapple Racing template on the Intake and Exhaust.

Rotary Aviation master rebuild kit.

I went with the Super Seals and Racing Apex Seal Springs for this one

Rotors all assembled

My favorite color is blue

call it amateur masking if you want

all painted up, still has masking all over but looks cool anyway

starting reassembly

good pic of the Super Seals, where I hope they plan on living for a while

coming along, so far so good

Pineapple Racing OMP Block Off Plate Kit

Installed Block Off Plate

Pretty much everything but the upper intake manifold

smooth install

Filled it up with coolant then remembered I dropped a wrench on my Koyo Rad

Nothing a little JB Weld cant repair

Filled it up again and realized I needed a new gasket for the intake manifold

Coming back from the test drive. Everything seems to be ok, just have to baby it for the initial break-in. 0 lbs boost keeping under 2500rpm for 100 miles

I told myself 6 months prior that I wouldn't allow myself to have In-N-out until I could drive my car there. Finally got some!
When I finally got to give my car some throttle and get it into boost, I found out I was running in limp mode from leaving out the OMP. I didn't know it, and did all sorts of other stuff trying to figure it out, but all I needed was to plug in the OMP and zip tie it out of the way. Can't wait to get some Dyno numbers.
Thanks for looking everyone

You didn't machine the o-ring recess on the front housing coolant passage into the LIM? Why is there so much red goop on the rear o-ring area? Nice work! Hope it lasts a while!

I first tried some gasket sealer around the o-ring to match the flat side on the rear housing... didn't work, but when I put the new gasket on I used RTV on both sides and it has been fine since.
