I just passed smog today too. With a j-spec air pump, a bigger fuel pump & the EGR valve disabled, these were my numbers:

15 MPH:
HC: 5 (MAX: 121 PPM)
CO: 0.03% (MAX: 0.76%)
NO: 43 (MAX: 807 PPM)

25 MPH:
HC: 27 (MAX: 96 PPM)
CO: 0.03% (MAX: 0.65%)
NO: 26 (MAX: 746 PPM)

My oxygen percentage is actually higher than when I smog tested my NA engine with a us-spec air pump. It was 2.2-2.7% today, while only 1.7-1.8% two years ago. So that tells me the little j-spec air pumps may even be better than the US versions.

Those numbers are so green. It was making me feel sick, but some time with the car jacked up after the test fixed it .

I use a big catalytic converter for the test, so it has no choice but to pass.

Cheap Catco converter for RX-7'S........turbo engine.

25mph test........HC 11 (allowed 174).....CO% 0.00 (allowed 1.12) ......NOx(ppm) 147 (allowed 1258).

15mph test.......HC 10 (allowed 180)......CO % 0.00 (allowed 1.01).......NOx(ppm) 6 (allowed 1378)

Stock fuel pump and no damn year old gas will ever be run any of my cars.

Gotta plug my scanner back in. It takes too long to type this stuff.

And FYI. I've run a emissions test with half E85 and half regular gas. Sad to say, there isn't enough difference in the test vs the year before when I used all regular. Puzzled.

Mine is from a Cadilliac w/ a northstar V8. It has dual ~8"x 8" sections and barely fits with the flanges welded on. It has about 3-4 times more area than the tiny stock cat. I got it for free from my uncle who was working for Cadilliac at the time.

Hailers, those are some nice 0.00%s on the CO measurement. Out of curiosity, what kind of O2% did you have with those? If your state's test tells you that is.

I've also run with some ethanol added to the tank. It was around half a liter into 3 gallons, so a 11.5:1 ratio or ~9%. It didn't make a difference for me, as I still failed the first test that year. This was with precats and a stock main cat that I would later find were on their way out.

02% at 15mph is 1.3 and there is no requirement for that item. 02 at 25 is still 1.3%.

CO2% at 15 mph is 14.4 and at 25mph is 14.3. No requirement for that either.

Dilution has to be >6 and is 14.3% at 25mph. At 15mph its 14.4%.

In just a couple of years more I won't have to go thru this emissons bs no 'mo! Instead of handing over 39.75 bucks it'll just be something like 15 bucks and no smog check. Yipee. At least ONE good thing will happen duing the BO administration.

Tested in the Peoples Republic of Austin

I got mine tested last week in Austin. '90 Vert with JDM Tii, emissions all intact and a Bonez cat from RP.

They did 2-speed idle tests (no dyno?)

2251 RPM
HC: 18.0 (220 limit)
CO: 0.0 (1.2 limit)
CO2: 11.3% (no standard)
O2: 5.4% (no standard)
Dilution: 11.3 (>6.0)

764 RPM
HC: 32 (220 limit)
CO: 0.0 (1.2 limit)
CO2: 13.0 (no standard)
O2: 5.4 (no standard)
Dilution: 13.0 (>6.0)

How will Obama's ascension change TX emissions testing?

I wish I could get out of smog testing once my car hits the 25 year mark. Unfortunately that law is no longer in effect here, except for vehicles that got grandfathered in (1975 and older). Maybe I'll register in AZ one of these days...Oh well, I'm free for 2 more years at least.

I'm outta here.

No. It's reasoned LOATHING for any left wing thug, which includes Pelosi, Reed, Barney ***, and the squid who don't pay federal income tax (that includes those who get the Earned Income Tax Credit {damned Nixon idea}). Darn bottom feeders and useless twits all.

My message for all left wingers is a song called "Get a Job" by the SiLhouettes (YouTube).

I'm definetly "outta here" now. To be heard from no more on this thread. This isn't the Lounge.
