My engine has a skip. Vids inside.

I have searched and I think that the problem may be the TPS but I thought id post a couple of vids so yall might be able to help. The first vid is me just revving the engine in neutral. The second is me acclerating under full throttle.

thats what my friends car did when it was cold. in the higher RPM range it did that same thing. plugs helped the problem IIRC.
also, yur temp seems to be pretty high for "normal", no? its about half way.

i think mine does the same thing. i've never revved it like that, but it doesn't idle quite smooth enough. always has a miss. been through plugs and wires...no fix. different leading coil as well. also added a Crane HI6. no change. i just decided to live with it. doesn't hurt drivability, but i know it's not right.

Warm the car up fully. Then turn the Variable resistor fully clockwise. RX run smoother richer.

I'm not sure if that's safe to any engine revvin' up like that when not moving...
('xcept on a dyno)
That's why too many rotaries break.. too much redlining...

^ Dont plus 1 me geeze. I dont rev the engine like that everyday. Actually, I never rev it like that. I did that to show what it was doing. I was thinking it sounded like breakup also. The wires are fairly new. The plugs im not sure about. They were on the car when I bought it as were the plug wires. Hailers, I thought the VR was not supposed to be fooled with. Thanks for all the advice guys. And I believe I may have found a major part of the problem. The clamp on the front intercooler hose was stripped and allowing the hose to slowly push back. I put another clamp on it and now it revs quick and boosts like it should and only hardly skips at the top of the rev. I will change the plugs and see if that helps. Any input on the plugs? Stock? Or temp change? My car is basically stock. Ive ported the wastegate and put a Bonez exhaust system that I got from Erikseven on it.

Still could use some input on my plugs. I forgot to mention that I also have a Walbro 255 hp fuel pump.

I may be wrong(and I'm sure a bunch of you will let me know what an idiot I am), but my common sense tells me that if it hurt your car to redline it once in a while, then Mazda would have made the redline lower.

The VR is located on the passenger inner fender. Right near the boost sensor. Im still not quite sure how it works. I believe it changes your rich/lean. Im not sure though. Im waiting for Hailers to reply back on that.

VR is an idle mixture setting, it only affects your idle mixture, yes "L"=Leaner and "R"=Richer.

So Hailers said you could adjust it,but the manual says its sealed from the factory. Im not sure wether this would benefit me messing with it.

I tried to check my tps with the multimeter I borrowed and I am not sure that I did it correctly. When I plugged it up, I had it set to 2k OHMs I didnt see 1k on there. It was at 1.66 or so and I reset it to 1.0 but I could never get a reading when I went wide open throttle. When I did that, all it showed was a 1 by itself. I am also including some vids of the "skip" that it is doing now.

Here is my car at idle, is this a normal idle? To me it sounds like it is skipping while it is idleing.

This is the 2nd gear pull...it starts to skip at about 5k rpm.

my idle is EXACTLY like that.

as far as revving it, not sure what would cause it to rev smooth but break up when you hold the rpm steady.
