my engine is dead, some questions about swapping

hey guys i just had some questions about swapping out my 13b for another one.

i have a 91 s5 and i was trying to find some good prices from trustable and reputable engine peddlers. so question number one, who would be my best bet in buying a new engine? tigerjapanese.com has some really good prices but they are so much lower than everywhere else i dont know if i should trust them. so if anyone has any personal experiance with buying an engine online or in the new jersey area your advice is very very appreciated.

and question number two, how much can i expect to pay for the swap(im gunna talk this over with the mechanic of course) but i just wanted to see some typical prices you guys have paid. and i've heard that a turbo swap is incredibly hard on these cars and if possible i would like to do one, but how much more expensive would that be?

thanks guys

If you dont change anything and put the same engine in, yopu are looking at between 8 to 10 hours from start to finsh. Add lubes and extras for 100$.

10 hours +100$= your price.

But do it your self if you can, it not as hard as you think. Buy or download an FSM, unplug, unbolt, replug and rebolt. Drive off.

haha 10 hours is being modest. you just need to know what to look for and you could have the old engine out and the new one in I'd say 3-4 hours. plugging everything in, there is no quick way for that

Or maybe I'm just fluent on pulling my engine out. Mind you I don't have a.c. or anything...I forgot about that. all I really have to put on my engine after I drop it in is the intercooler and clutch fan.

In any case, he's right, take your time until you know EXACTLY what you're doing. I've ripped off reverse sensors on the tranny Idk how many times because I was rushing.
