check your heater hoses. Especially the one on the driver's side under the oil filter. Chances are the clamp was weak sauce and blew off. Happened to me. Motor survived just fine.

if the coolant buzzer was on for just a second or two and you didn't let the engine get to hot you should be okay.

and i'm also thinking you might want to replace some clamps if the hose flew off. must of been a weak clamp.

That's probably a good sign. The hose they are talking about is just above the rear spark plugs and just below the oil filter. Can't miss it.

sounds like the heater core hose like someone else mentioned. look at your oil filter, then go down. you'll find a hose that should be clamped to the block, and it's coming from the firewall. There's a good chance that it became soggy from a leaking oil filter pedestal and popped off. did you overheat the engine while all this was happening?

Unless the car was smoking like hell your engine is not blown, not even close if the temp gauge didn't even move. The coolant leaked out externally or internally, from the way you described it, it sounds external. Find the leaking hose or connection, fix it, add coolant and drive.

I had the same hose blow off on me too. Except mine was from the PO tightening the clamp too much and it wearing through the rubber. Go to ace hardware and get yourself a BIG bag of worm drive clamps and replace the clamps on your others hoses while your doing that. Best ones out there IMO.

If the engine was only running for a few seconds after the buzzer, you're probably fine.

I had the same thing happen to me. The coolant hose cracked right on the clamp and squirted coolant all over motor. I just snipped off the end of the hose and re-attached it. You motor should be fine.
