My Dyno Sheets (couple questions)

Run # 1 was before I tuned the SAFC. #2 was after

#3 on here was a run where it started detonating very badly due to heat soak on the intercooler. (200deg)

However on my other runs I did hear what could have been detonation (as viewed by the gaps in datalogging) but those were completely different sounding then the 3rd run and the A/F at that time was 11.5 to 1 for the most part. Could my ignition be the source of my problems? I know that at idle the car seems like it will miss a cycle every once in a while.

Thats low? Wouldn't stock be around 165hp? boost raised 1.5 and mods = 208hp. Sounds about right to me. Would that be around 245 at the crank?

You need a full exhaust. Then go back to the dyno and be very happy.

thats a nice fuel curve.....those breaks looks like an ignition issue.....maybe plugs, or pick up lead on the dyno no tmaking proper contact.

wow i dynoed 202.8 with the mods in my sig. whats weird for me is on the stock fuel system i was running about 11 to 12 to 1. is that normal with a fcd? btw id try new plugs and a full exhaust and check all your conections. and that may be the car its self when my freind dynoed his car would actually start bouncing around becouse of out of balance tires.

he really only has a few power mods.
APEXi Intake
3" TID mod
APEXi N1
Racing Beat Downpipe
Bonez Midpipe
APEXi S-AFC
Walboro 255l/ph Fuel Pump
Magnecor 10mm wires
A/C, PS, Air Pump removed
Dual Alt. Pulley

That's a pretty good power output @ 9 psi

Check your plug wires make sure that they are "burped" and fully seated on the coils and plugs. I had the same prob. w/ my car detonating. I also have the same mods as you and same plug wires. The magnecore wires do not seat well.

I'll be honest that seems low. You do have a full exhaust with a midpipe.

That just seems wrong. Supposedly the RB turbo exhaust system nets a proven 59fwhp. So just exhaust so yield at least that much.

I do agree heat soak killed your engine power. HOWEVER, if I am reading your power right. It says SAE which should mean it is CORRECTED horsepower. Meaning it is being compensated for heat and altitudes.

Can you get the datafiles from your run? Those would be great to have. Then you can go the Dyno companys website and get the software to play with your raw data for free.

Were you spraying water on your intercooler between runs? And even during runs. That would help alott.

After the 3rd run, I ran and got a bag of ice. temps on the surface were 70degrees or less the last 2 runs

i'm wondering if im hitting fuel cut. i do not have an fcd, but even when i spiked to 10psi once it's never cut. i havent a clue what that's like. the guy i bought the car from mentioned an fcd but ive never been able to find it.

If you didn't have a FCD you wouldn't be reaching 9psi(not sure what FCD is on S5's though).
