Have you considered painting it silver or black or something, or sanding it slightly. Just to cover up the burn markings from welding?

As the reigning Air Box Master, I must commend you on a job well done. Are you going to add a surface that would surround the stock air box snorkel on the front of the assembly? That might aid in cool air collection.
