Exclamation MY CAR IS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR!!!! help!!

so yeah today i'm driving, and i went to shift into 2nd and it stays in 1st. i parked and i turned off the car thinking it could be a pilot bearing issue but it's still stuck in 1st, then i looked @ the hydro system and it's fine, works good....do you think i blew something in the tranny????

i dont understand ... does the shifter move but the tranny stays in 1st? ... or is the shifter itself stuck? ... and does the clutch work?

Ive got a problem where In first and Rev if I move the stick to far from centre in either gear it falls out of the shift patten so to speak. (sounds like what you have)

to get it back in I have to move the stick to the futhest corners (for you top left) then drag it along the top (to 3rd gear spot) then it will fall back into the normal shift patten.

if its not this then dont know :P I know my box is a bit munted

sounds like your shifter socket is cracked/broken/worn. time for a shifter overhaul.

are you positive you don't just have awful bushings? If you don't have much of any bushings left in there you can move the shifter too far to the left and it will feel like it is stuck in gear when really you're just hitting the gates.

okay, the shifter is stuck in first, it won't go into netural or anything, the clutch peadly works perfectly, i can drive the car, just i can't shift gears, the socket looks like it's alright, it's stuck in first and it won't go anywhere else!!!!

My car was doing that due to a broken engine mount I believe, after I changed the mounts, it was fine. .
