Last week...i installed a CS cat-back...It sounded very nice..all deep and throaty...freinds said it sounded like mean monstar bout to eat a WRX up.....but it was a little too loud...
So i bought a silencer..... after that...my car sounded like tha noise was going everywhere...allmost like a ricer fart can farting....freinds said it sounds like king kong ate a bad dinner.....

Is it the silencer??? i noticed the silencer to me a little loose even when the screw and the nut is lockewd dead....is it possible to make a gasket kinda thingy for a silencer?

 

Personally, I wouldn't silence it. As long as 1. You don't mind the sound, and 2. Its at the legal 95dB, you don't have to silence it. If you want it silenced, I guess you could use a strip of brass or copper gasket material for the silencer. Considering the high temps of rotary exhaust, it should seal relatively nicely.

 

Just drive around without the silencer and let yourself get used to the sound level. It's not that bad. Sure it's LOUD under WOT but if you get used to it after a while you won't mind the volume of the CS. But yeah if you want a gasket you should be able to make a ring type gasket from copper flashing.

 

TAKE IT OUT. It looks better. And sounds better. Let them hear that rotary.

 

buy a good muffler that will shut it up.

yea with the silencer the Corksport sounds like crap

 

A friend of mine has a TII with a similiar setup. It was way too loud, but when he put the silencer in he couldn't boost more than 5psi. He drilled holes in the silencer and that helped but not enough. He ended up getting a Borla mid muffler to replace the main cat. Sounds very good now without the silencer.

 

well...i realli like tha sound of the CS w/o the silencer too.... but i got pulled over 3 tyms withing tha last week and the cops told me to get a silencer or take it off ...
and my nighbors hate me now cuz they cant sleep or wake up to the sound of my car

hhmmm....but there was once a cop was behind me...and i reved slowly to 2k and shift and he didnt say anything....but tha was in traffic...i dunno what to do on the freeway (when its slanted up ) and after red lights/stop signs ( they might gimme a ticket or going too slow) lol....

But thnaks for comments guys... ill try to make a gasket or it...if it stylll sounds like crap...i guess ill take out tha silencer.....and if i keep getting pulled over.....ill try to get another muffler
