best way to get cold air intake without headlight scoop

You could always throw in some piping that goes down to the front air dam...

^Easier said than done. The most effective way is to remove the winsheild sprayer bottle, make the hole about 3" in diameter, and use air from under the front of the car. I would, however, advise the vented headlight cover.

a headlight cover doesn't give you cold air unless you have cut a lot of metal and made some ducts.

Step 1: Remove passenger side FTP lenses, then the driver side so you don't look dumb.
Step 2: Start cutting.

I also got some honeycomb grille off of a Grand Prix and cut it to fit on both sides. Looked really trick, very OEMesk. This was on my last car mind you.

Better than 2 obvious holes in your front bumper.

I saw a car on the KC run last summer that had the eggcrate mod for the ftps, don't remember if it was the AE or not. I was suprised how clean it does look. Much better than having gaping holes in the front.
