my car likes playing tricks on me...

yeah soo im driving and i see that my temp gauge is at hot and this happened before, my car had no water or coolant in it, so meeh n my dad added some and it was all gravy n stuff, but then it would drain the coolant like crazy and it was really weird to me soo i kept adding coolant n yeah then like i sed i was driving and i saw my gauge on hot soo i went to the nearest gas station and no water or coolant again soo i let the car cool off and bought coolant, then i added the water to the coolant and put it in the coolant container and i added water to the radiator and it was hella leaking, soo i left the car there for an hour and i refilled it with water and the coolant was still full and all of a sudden it aint leaking anymore its kinda weird...anybody know whats up with my FC???

look for places on your engine where it may be leaking.. i had a problem similar to that.. it turned out to be the plastic neck that connects to the waterpump.. it would only leak underpressure cuz it was cracked.. i replaced it and viola..

Maybe you need a new radiator cap. Only leaking at high pressure (through the overflow bottle) and not leaking at all during ilde.

If you have a leak, and you can see the leak, why not FIX the leak?

yeah that plastic neck had cracked on mine.
Was about to put a metal neck on from an s4, but realized I'd need to put a s4 waterpump housing on there to make it fit right.

Once I put the new plastic piece on, then my radiator started leaking. Again, like 75 repu said, it will onlt leak under pressure(and heat) if it's a small crack. I found out that my rad only leaked above 4ooo rpm, so if I NEEDED to go somewhere, I would just do so very slowly and gently, and as soon as that damn buzzer went off, pull over and add more water.

Get your cap tested too. could be a leak from the radiator itself, or anywhere else in the system....

good luck

I feel your pain. my heater hose was like that and I had to get to work, so everytime the coolant buzzer came on id pull over and add coolant and procceed...I think my system was thoroughly flushed after that lol!

But yeah, its nice to work a 1 mile away!
