my car jerks at 3800 and around rpms

i am usually accellerating a little more than slow people and i feel a jerk at 3800 rpms. i checked the threads or what ever and i think it is bad grounding, just want ur opinion on that. also if it is and i am sure it is, should i replace both wires or just on of them the pos or neg, i pretty sure its the neg only and if it is where does it ground. usually its on the engine right, if not can u show me and also tell me where a good ground is.

hah, dang, i can't remember what to ground, i think i ran a groun from somewhere to the firewall. there's a male spade terminal coming off the fire wall towards the passenger side. i think i grounded something there. it's been soo long ago. I also ran a 4ga cable from a water pump bolt to the passenger strut tower. I don't have any hesitation.

There is a thread in the 2 gen archives about grounding. Check the ECU grounds with a volt meter. There are at least 3 of them. Voltage should be -0-. If they show voltage then reground them. Secondaries should come in at about 3800. Check the function of the secondaries. Maybe get your injectors cleaned and balanced.

It's the 3800 RPM hesitation. Search. Well covered. Probably also in the FAQ/archives.

well alot of people believe in adding grounds however some of the other people believe mazda made fine grounds from the factory however after 15 or so years those grounds have become very dirty and not worth a ****. Best thing to do is clean off all your grounds in the engine bay and at the ecu and see how it goes.

You don't really need to add grounds. Just fix the ones you have. Generally this means removing them, cleaning up all the rust and scale, often replacing the connector, then reinstalling after coating liberally with dielectric grease.
