TX My car hit 390hp on the dyno

I recently hit 390 on the dyno!! My question is I think it could get more but my fuel pump is not putting out enough fuel!! I have a walbro pump!! Should I swap it for another one and change my fuel lines?? If so what pump is recommended and how big of fuel lines should I go??

have you rewired your pump?
if so.. then something is restricting it and its not the pump unless its bad or going bad? whats the fuel filter status?

what fpr are you using and if any is it a rising rate?

what turbo and psi are you running ?

the fuel filter is brand new! The whole fuel system was installed about a month ago!! My buddy actually took my car to a shop in arizona to tune it!! Im still in iraq but Ill be home in a few weeks!!

When it got tuned in arizona the tuner said it was starving for fuel!! But I think with set up I went with would have been enough!! Do you think something could be restricted??? If not I think Im gona change my whole fuel system and go with the fuel pump from rx7.com!!!

try to get the rewire done 1st. since voltage could be dropping off at higher rpm loads?

1308cc.com has a write up about how to do it. i have yet to do mine but i have not hit the hp that might require it to be done. but ill be doing it very soon as i just bought a gt35r and ill be needing 1300cc or bigger secondaries.

but 400 hp is not enough to upgrade the fuel hard lines yet...

if you do try another pump ive heard that supra tt pumps and i think skyline pumps are very good but i still think do the rewire 1st. then go from there.

oh and i also forget to mention... ask the tuner what duty cycles your injectors were at? cause to low then they would not be able to keep up but im pretty sure the tuner would know something along that line to check out while tuning

Thanks.. I'll check out the wiring and add a second wiring...

And I'll get with the tuner to see the duty cycle!!

Numbers sound inflated for 12psi.

^ +1, I was thinking your setup would make less than 350 whp at 12psi. Is 390 your estimated flywheel hp?

It was actually 389 at the wheels at 310 max torque!! Why should I be able to get that power with that set up??

Is this Seth's old car by chance? Your avatar, numbers and setup sound like his car..

Anyhow sorry to hijack the thread. Anyhow you should get fuel pressure gauge and check that during a run first.

Seth set this car up really clean!! This is problably one of the cleanest 7's I ever saw!! And as for the wheels we already have a sponser for the car already!! The car will be showing staring in July in Austin! It will be showing with Project cars!!!!

There isn't a doubt then about the numbers. That car is extremely well built. Hell the motor is not a rebuild, its a built engine with virtually all new parts. Thats part of the reason for the higher than average power levels. Goodluck with the car, I think its safe to say you probably have thee nicest 2nd gen on this forum.

Congrats on the numbers. I say drive the car first at its current power rating and see if you really need more. Its already at "kill yourself" fast.

^ **** yeah. I've got 386 rwhp on mine (T04S P-trim with HKS log mani, but that was at 18psi ... makes me wonder about this guy's dyno or his actual boost level) and the car is hard to to control, especially in lower gears of course. You break into traffic making a right turn and the car will easily get sideways in first and second if you're not careful. The same can happen if you are boosting and hit rough pavement. I have a decent suspension setup but I honestly had more fun in the turns on stock turbo when I wasn't so worried about ending up in a ditch. It's nasty on the highway though.
