My car is going thru CAS's
Hi,
My car is going thru CAS's. I just replaced it and it needs another. I checked the codes and it's always the CAS. My symptoms are a popcorn machine sound at 7000+rpms and a loss of power. It doesn't want to climb to redline after 8000rpms. If you guys know something please tell me. Thanx

Yeah. I'd suspect the wiring b/t the cas and the ECU before I'd suspect the cas itself. Download the manual at what ever site you use, then go to the Fuel section. Somewhere in that section you'll find a sheet showing the output/input of each pin on the ECU with the car idling. Do it.
Prior to that, ring the wiring out with a multimeter. The wiring b/t the cas and the ECU.

get out your DMM and check the resistance between the Ne and G signal on the CAS. they should be between 100 - 200 ohms. That'll help you rule out CAS failure.
Then check your ECU with the DMM the G and Ne both show like less than 1v with 'ign' on.. if you're not getting that then you know it's wiring.

I had the same symptoms before then we diagnosed it to be the CAS. We replaced the CAS and it was fine for a couple weeks. Now it's acting up again with the same symptoms. Is there something causing my CAS's to become bad? Thanx

BLLNK has it nailed. Ohm out the cas. Most likely both are good, the old and new. If all you did was remove and replace the cas, and it worked, I'd take a good look at the connector that goes ON the cas. The one that is part of the wiring harness. Look for a pushed back pin/socket in the plug. Then for a bad spot in the wiring in and around that connector.

I used an electrical connection cleaner and di electric grease when i replugged in my CAS.
