I just bought an A/C compressor for an 88 gxl non turbo. The middle part of the belt wheel spins freely BUT there is no suction when you turn the wheel thingy. From past experience when you turn the compressors wheel and were to put your fingers over the openings where your compressor hooks to the hoses it should have suction mine doesnt is that bad for an rx 7 compressor?

 

Could be that there is no oil in the compressor.

 

It will free wheel (spin) until the clutch engages. Apart and no signal to the clutch it will not pressurize.
