well, it wont be the most exciting of all races. a 17 second car versus an old auto probe. have fun racing and all, just dont expect to turn any heads. well, not very quickly, anyways.

HAHAHA! A probe, come on now. OK, my 88 GXL only has an exhaust and KnN filter and I can stay up to the new GT Mustangs. Well to the front of the door anyway....well my friend has a 96 Probe GT 5-speed and I beat the crap out of him every time, I beat him by about 2 car lengths, and anybody who says a Probe can beat an RX-7 in Jap style racing need to be kicked off the forum.....haha, a Probe. By the way my rx-7 runs 16.1 with just an exhaust so whoever runs 17's need to get their motor checked out.

Keep in mind us high elevation folk. Your 16.1 would be a 17.1 - 17.6 here in utah.

i have to agree you should be able to stay with him if you've done a fair amount of modding and you're good at driving. i ran a 14.8 with my 91 at the track (yes i have a time slip to prove it) a few weeks back. but ive done some weigh removal stuff and ive got a full exhaust (header/race pipe/duals) CAI with cold air box and some other stuff. racing is 70%driver 30%car unless your racing on the highway

you will waste the probe, unless the driver is driving it to the ground

lol I've driven a probe with the mazda-ford engine while my car was sitting in the garage waiting for the 5speed.

My n/a still pulls strong, and I'd be confident that the probe could take it until 65-80mph. The probe is pretty tight right up to their. Then it start to top out.

The engine did however have 270k miles stock

That said... my n/a rx-7 will eat just abotu anything on a road with more turns then straightaways. The fc can take a corner going 60 that tha fwd probe needs to go 35, or it will slide forward out of the turn.

EDIT: he's got an auto? lol... you'll waste him.
