My 87 TII progress

I just bought Will's RX-7 with a freshly rebuilt motor, stock turbos, large street port, koyo radiator, and some other goodies. I'd like to squeeze 300hp out of this beast if I can.

I'll be installing a Walbro 255 fuel pump and doing a baseline run this wekeend. I just ordered a downpipe and FCD from Racing Beat, so I'll probably end up having a custom 3" exhaust made after the downpipe. Then I need to get a free flowing intake and SAFC.

Will I need to go with a FMIC if I get near 300hp? I was reading the archive and it was recommended to go with a rising-rate FPR and port the wastegate. Would you guys recommend going with larger injectors? Am I missing anything?

Thanks for reading!

yes, you need larger injectors and some type of fuel controllor or standalone, you cant hit 300 hp on stock injectors

Dont use the walbro. Get a FD fuel pump. Even with 750 secondaries, its more then enough fuel and you dont get shitty gas miliage like with the walbro. Also you will need a boost controller, a ported wastegate, and a few other goodies before you think about that downpipe. Stock turbo (no twins) will do around 250 and max efficency at 12psi. You should read some buildups.

300hp from stock turbo I believe will be pushing it. The stock turbo and IC will only do 15psi, a FMIC and an upgraded turbo will be your best bet for pulling off 300hp. Are you talking about 300hp to the flywheel? or the rear wheels? Also, you might want to go EMS instead of SAFC so you have more control over the car and it will be more reliable. Haltech it!

Okay, so I might have been a little ambitious. I'll probably have to stick with the stock turbo for a while. Should I still upgrade the injectors? Do I need primaries also or can I get by with just 750cc secondaries? Will the stock turbo get me to near 250hp at the flywheel or to the wheels? Sorry for my ignorance
