Anyone ever get that many miles out of the original motor?

 

Some have gotten over that. My pal has 206k on it.

My 1988 SE non-turbo has 235,000 original motor miles due to regular maintenance, engine flush with every oil change and fuel injector cleaner with every gas fillup. Compression is around 7.5 to 8.0 and engine burns 1 qt. of oil every 700-800 miles. Engine still pulls strong with no hesitation.

 

Please list major repairs ($500.00 or more) as I have 235K miles on my 1988 SE non-turbo.

 

Mine's got about 150k and as far as I know the only major repair has been the alternator a few times. My electrical system is total crap right now, so I guess I could tack on a few grand to get that mess cleaned up.

 

Ready to go any time. My 85 GSL-SE got 216k and one day after a stop light at 3500rpm with totally regular driving it just went poof.... blah blah blah blah......
