ok it doesnt constantly smell... but once in a while, usualy when i give it a little bit more gas, in 2 or 3rd gear... its not burning clutch, and its also not burning oil... is it mabeye exhaust smell? i have a small hole very close to the manifold.. its an 86 Gxl.. Thanks guys, i have no idea what it is... but it doenst smell good.

 

Probably the car running rich when you give it the fun pedal...That's pretty much normal. What does it smell like? Rotten eggs?

 

clogged cats - burns your eyes, power drop past 5500 rpms

exhaust leak - mostly noisy when you rev it real hard

gas smell - replace the pulsation dampiner if you haven't already

ritch smell - time for a tuneup

 

smell like gear oil? There's some lube in the shifter nest and, if the shifter boots are warn, you can smell that stuff. It smells nasty too.

Its kind of a rich smell, alost like exhaust kinda, but its not exhaust... i think it might be the car running rich, but im not to sure... i dont know what gear oil smells like Btw, so i wouldnt know if thatw as it... it usally happens when i punch it in 2nd... its Buggin me! but ya, i think i need a tune-up... should i do the tune myself, or should i spend the $150 bucks canadian on it...

sweet, I have never actually gotten over there on a sunday, but i am really looking forward to this weekend, and hell bring the date, i am dragging my girlfried there, and it will also increase her desire to buy an rx7. i think i got her 95% convinced that she should trade in the jeep.

Well, mine has smelled funny since I removed all emissions. And some people complain about that. I say it is a sign of dedication and performance. Also it is a sign that I am killing the environment...

 

well what the hell is with that smell.... its driving me nuts...
