my car(87 Gxl, no mods) just went thru a rebuild. it took close to a year to finally get it done, but the engine is in. im having a problem thoguh. the car turns over, but doesnt start. if anybody knows how to get it to start, pls tell me. i noticed during the inital attempts, gas was leaking out the exhaust near the exh manifold. i also dont remember where to hook the cruise control up at.
thanx

*afterthought* why did they even put cruise on a 5spd?

Try pulling the injector fuse in the main fouse box underneath the hood.
EGI INjector fuse. Crank for 15 secs and put back in crank again. For it could be flodded
Other things...Make sure its gettin spark

yeah, crank it over without any gas for a few cranks to make sure you get all that unburnt gas out of there. then do it with gas. keep doing it
to control the throttle so you dont have to keep your foot on the pedal...
cruise control controls the throttle cable, not the transmission.

Im having the same problem as you are But my motor is older I just dropped it in and tried to start it and it flooded really bad like yours drippin gas . read all the post on it from the people I talked to . They all say pull it to get it going !!!!!!!!!
yeah, i think the most important thing is to keep the battery jumped to a running car, and make sure oil is in the chamber to help those new apex seals make a good seal (via trailing sparkplug holes)
