My 6 month search is finally over!

I started looking for a TII way back in December and I finally bought one. I know, there is one of these posts every couple of days (been reading this forum for a year) but I knew that when I finally got my car I would do the same stupid post that everyone else did when they bought their car. I can finally stop checking auto trader and the for sale forum. Anyway, the good stuff:

1988 TII
Black Exterior/Gray Interior
Exterior needs a dent fixed and paint on the front bumper and hood scoop, but no big deal.
100,000 origional miles
Car still runs good, no smoke no strange backfiring or any of that ****.
3,800 RPM hesitation was there but I think it may be because the mufflers had corroded away and there was little back pressure. I have heard exhaust leaks can cause the 3800 RPM hesitation.
Needs new mufflers and front brake pads.
No rust, and good tires.
$1,500

So I need paint, pads, mufflers and I should be good to go. It was the happiest day of my life.

Oh and by the way, for all of those people that scream at 16 year olds saying they shouldn't get a TII because they will break it and they won't know how to maintain it: I am 16 and I hope you don't like the fact that I have the same car as you! Bwahaha.

The car also came with some 16" x 7" chrome wire rims. He said (after I bought the car so I assume he wasn't lying) he payed $1200 for the set of 4. I will sell the set to anyone for $800+ shipping. They are in very good condition, like new. I will put up pictures later. PM me if interested.

Finally got my TII, Happiest day of my life.

Thanks to everyone that decided to help me on this forum rather than type, "Search Newbie!!!!". I really appreciate all of the help I've gotten. Now perhaps I will learn from my car and be able to pass it on to other new members.

Yes, definately congrats! I still remember when my step-dad first ordered his car. I loved it so much and I am really glad he kept the car the whole time because now it's all mine! It needs a bunch of work right now, but I am more than willing to do it all. Doing a T2 conversion soon, wooohooo! Congrats again on getting your FC!

uhmm i don't know about the waiting to find one part.. i just jumped on auto trader to find my sister a car

she wanted a sporty small car since she was tired of driving my dads van

so i first look for mr2's but non in her price range, i then look for RX-7's a bit bigger but still.. powers there and it's RWD

I then find an 87' RX-7 GXL with a Brand new s5 engine with some internal mods done to prep for NOS

it was sold b4 it was even finished and was lady drive for it's total 10,000 km

and she only wants $800 CAD cause it doesn't handle in the snow?

Sold my moded 91 eclipse to my sister for 3000 in a flash and a week later i was the owner of that nice RX-7

however i didn't really get to drive it much since i decided to put a few grand in mods b4 letting her lose on the streets.. a year later she's in the body shop in near completion

only a few weeks left! !

Good for you! If I were you i'd save the money you get from the rims for the rebuild you'll probably need in the next 20k miles or so, although you could get lucky. I met a guy with a TII that had 186k miles on it and it was all origional, but that's a rare occurence.

I will definately be putting the money from the rims back into the car. I will eventually use for mods I guess, if the engine doesn't go that is. Don't worry, I'm not going to throw on a full exhaust, intake, and turbo and decide I don't have the cash or the patience to get some kind of replacement ECU. I'm afraid of this car (in a good way) I have a great deal of respect for it... or something like that. Don't worry, I won't dissapoint anyone!

Oh, and RXciting, I live in Michigan and the only places that I can really think of that have cars for sale is Detroit and Chicago. I had to drive 3.5 hours to Indianapolis to get this car. They are few and far between. I could've grabbed an NA whenever I felt like it (there are quite a few for sale around me) but I decided on a TII and stuck with it until it finally paid off.

Good find, looked for about 2 weeks for my 89 Turbo'd GTUs. Fo 6000 I was totally owned. However when I bought it, it was perfect, nice black paint, no rust or dents.....Now It has a blown engine, salted rust on the rear wheel wells, and a couple of scratches and a ding. I owe 4000 on it but I love it to death.....Nothin like owning the ricers at my school.......

sweet deal man, hehe i had to drive 4 hours from Ottawa to T.O. to get this deal.. i saw it on Autotrader.. talked to the lady, she gave me the website of the guy that built the car and turns out she had no idea what the car was capable of so, at the time i wasn't even looking for a car for myself i was looking for a car for my sister, i already owned a slightly moded 91 eclipse... LOL i called her at work and told her i was gonna give her a good deal on my car (i was broke and wanted to close the deal since i doubted the car would be on there for anohter 2 weeks) got the money and left for T.O. the next day woo woooo!
