Well I was bored today so i attempted to fix my aux ports. They have been stuck open since I got the car and i keep talkin about fixin them but never do it. Well i got the actuators off and come to find the screws over the ports are actually stripped. SInce i coudlnt spray some cleaner in there i decided to try moving them by hand without. It moved a little bit but i used some taps with a screw driver handle to get them in the closed position. Was this a good idea? Could I have caused damage? EVery write-up i read says use your hands only. I dont see how anything serious could have been hurt but i figured Id ask just for reassurance. Also my actuators are stuck open, will the stay closed with no actuator holding them that way?
