Mufflers
Is there a source for quiet mufflers other than the dealer? I have a mint 89 which I just installed a new aftermarket performance system, what a mistake, it is too noisy, at 3000 rpm it is just a drone.
any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "aftermarket performance system" Header? Straight Pipe? Cat-Back System? All of these? Is you car Turbo or NA? If you have the spec on you car listed somewhere.. sorry but I haven't looked..

Two words: Racing Beat.
Racing Beat mufflers are about the only performance aftermarket muffler out there that can hold up to the abuse that the rotary dishes out, performs well, and is quiet.
RB is expensive, though. 576 for the catback at most places, plus an arm and a leg to ship.
