MN muffler question

hi, just looking for some input on mufflers, right now im running a TII with a turbonetics t66 full 3" exaust, one dynomax reso. and a n1 style muffler with the silencer and its kinda loud so i wanted to put a muffler about midway in the exaust.

dont want somthing super expensive but so it quiets the car down . was looking at the oval straight mufflers from jegs. here are some of my ideas...

http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/17...oductId=744869

http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/...oductId=751042

whats your guys's thaught? should i go with a differen brand or style?

BOTH of those are Straight through according to there discriptions. if you are serious about getting it quiet you'll need an exhaust restricting multi chamber one, avoid those that say " straight through flow design " or " straight-through perforated stainless steel core".

Agreed. You want quiet, you need a chambered muffler. Perforated straight through mufflers sound really good on a 7, if you get them long enough (18-22"). They have a deep tone and absorb the tinny, fart sound of the rotary. I am running straight through perforated mufflers on my S5 NA at the rear (stock muffler location) and it sounds good, but it can be loud at WOT. Idle, it purs like a kitten and for the most part, doesn't **** the neighbors off.

Now, if sound isn't a concern, these are good mufflers for flow, and not freakishly loud if you get a tube long enough. Some will say "the high EGT of the rotary will burn it up!" but that isn't so. As long as they are at the rear of the car where the stock mufflers go, the fiberglass will be fine. I've had mine on my car for a long time now (previous owner installed them 6 years ago) and my glass is still intact the last time I checked a week ago. They also make these with stainless steel wool packing, which handles heat better, but at the same time doesn't tune out the higher pitched noise as well as fiber glass, so keep that in mind.

Edit: I reread your post and missed the part that your where putting it in mid way through. Don't use fiber glass. Get a louvered resonator. That dynomax resonator is probably too short and not louvered.
