msd 6a, burned out?

Ok, so about three months ago i wrecked my car. I had the msd 6a ignition mounted to the fan shroud. Nothing happened to the ignition box, but my car started to not pull anymore once i got it running again. So I replace the leading coil and it started to pull like it used to, but i didnt attempt to put on the ignition box on it again because before i installed a msd ignition and burt out the leading coil. So im afraid if I try to put this one back onto the the leading coil that I will burn it out and have to buy a new one. Do you think that the msd igniton had burnt out thats why it wasn't pulling anymore or was it because the leading coil had burnt out during the wreck. O yeah the one of the wires on the ignition got pinched so you can see the wire underneath the covering.
