Yes, I agree...
Check your H.P. fluid.. its probably low or contaminated.
If its contaminated, the reservoir has gone bad.
You will have to remove the reservoir, place it on the gound, and shoot it.
You can obtain a new reservoir from any number of people that keep them.
Make sure that the one you get is bright and clean.
Install it, and replace the H.P. fluid.
Make sure you warm the fluid before you pour it in, otherwise you car will bolt and you might be injured.
Let me know how this works out.

Have you noticed any other hesitations the car has at any other rpms? Does this happen when the car is hot? Yesterday, I took my 87 NA that I am selling out for a final 'test' (really a sad goodbye) drive. I swear all I know is that I was punching the gas and after about 5 seconds of bieng in 5th I looked down and I was the needle was at least 135mph.
Check your catalytic converter (if u still have one). The car may have the common 3000rpm hesitation or stumble, if it does then I can tell you exactly how to fix that.
Dont listen to some of these ppl on the posts looks like mostly they are jealous of your gf.
Good Luck m8

I'll have a Coke!
hey, trurx7, i would definately be interested in hearing you solution to the 3k hesitation. i've tried one and it didn't really do anything.
mine is the case where it is sporatic, as in sometimes you feel it when you're flooring it and other times you don't. on average, it seems to be most noticable when if the car hasn't completely warmed up. but that's not always the case.
thanks

I posted this elsewhere on the forum. Here it is.
I had this problem. Here is how to fix it.
First of all this problem is common and its electrical. It is caused by not enough current flowing through critical engine management components.
Here are somethings that will help if not rid the problem completely.
1. Run a capacitor (commonly used in high power stereo systems) I ran one that was rated at one farad. You can find these on ebay for like $50. Make sure you wire it properly because you can cause a fire if you dont. I can help you in the install.
2. If you dont have that much money, Go to autozone or a local parts place and get some 4gauge or 2gauge wire. the smaller the number the better. Run some extra grounds from the battery to the chassis. Run some grounds to the engine itself. Make sure the connections are secure and tight.
3. Clean all electrical contacts, while you are at autozone, have your electrical charging system and battery checked for free. Make sure everything is working properly.
4. After doing all this, reset your battery, disconnect the (-) battery terminal and push on the brake pedal for about 5 seconds. Then reconnect the negative and you should notice a great improvement.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I had this problem before and have gone through all the trial and error parts of it and finally ridded the car of the problem. You must first realize the problem is caused by lack of current.
Thanks for asking

Its amazing that this did anything for you.
I mean if you had bad grounds, the I understand, but this is all not a solution, except maybe for you.
I dont see anything but voodoo here.
I know that grounds can go bad, and this would address that, but the guage your talking about isnt required unless your master ground cable is hosed.
And resetting the ecu is for those with major part replacements or that wish to retune the engine and clear persistent codes in the 1990+ cars.
I think his problem is elsewhere.
