Motorcycle oil?

Motorcycle oil?
I was watching a car tv show yesterday and they did some test regarding engine oil in a car. The test car was a civic SiR (JDM). The way they did the test was to have the car do a couple of 0-60mph runs with mobile 1 5W30, and then swap out the oil with a France Motorcycle oil call "Total" with grade 5W50.
The 0-60 runs with mobile 1 was averaged to be 8.5 sec.
The 0-60 runs with Total was averaged to be 7.7 sec, a decrease of 0.8 sec.
They claim that due to the fact that motorcycle oils are design to be high flow and high rev (~14k RPM), it lets the engine rev faster, thus faster acceleration.
Since the 13b are happy reving too, do you think it'll help our cars too?
Anyway have any comments to this?

What did they do, pour sand into the motor when they used the Mobil 1 and then clean it out and put in the Total oil? Seems like a pretty outrageous claim for power increase, but then again i didn't see the ad.
I will stay with good old 20-50 castrol mineral oil for my car in california. I dont tend to have much confidence in something no specifically designed and tested in a rotary. Just my opinion of course........

I was wondering about motorcycle oil to.Since motorcycles share their oil with both the engine and the clutch.Motorcycle oil is supposed to have something in it which allows it to lubricate but also allow the clutch to grip.I was wondering about the benefits it might have on our unique engines.Would they allow the apex seals to seal better under higher boost?Just throwing out these questions to see if any oil gurus pick up on it.

Racing Beat makes a similar claim for a synthetic oil called Royal Purple. I haven't tried it in a Rotary yet, but I definitely could feel a difference in my Maxima after changing from Mobil 1 to this oil. I sent an e-mail to Royal Purple themselves because I was concerned about apex seal contamination. They say that one of their engineers has been running a Gen 2 rotary in SCCA racing for 2 years now with no problems of any kind related to oil.
I may try it.
