motor swap

i have an 88 non-turbo rx-7. I want to build it to have a lot of power but i have decided that i want a 13btt out of a 93-95 rx-7. my question is will the motor be a straight drop in? Will the transmission bolt to the motor or do i need to have the transmission as well?

dude, search. this topic has been covered at least 3 times.

the simple answer is no it's not a direct replacment. the more specific answer is be prepared to do an assload of work and have a bunch of green (dollars) in your pocket to get the job done. it's cool when done by sombody but for most of the regular people on the forum not worth it.

if you searched and didn'yt find anything, you need to brush up on your terminology. start simple. odds are if you can't find it searching you're not smart enough to do it yet.

i'm not dissing on you at all. i started out more ignorant than most but taking my time reading everything i could find helped me learn a hell of a lot.

now that i actually have an rx-7 to work on i'm dropping a new motor, tranny and rear-end in, and i plan on doing this in 6 days.

the hardest thing i've ever done on a car before (getting my vert) is change the brakes, so i've learned an asston just by being here and asking questions. but i learned that if i ask too many without searching i get my *** reamed for not reading the forum rules.

Check out the FC faq at the top of this page to get some more information about your car. read all of it. I did and i learned a lot.

good luck buddy.
