almost forgot, i plan on making a deck stiffening plate when it is out also, similar to what the FD guys have.

jarrett, this is EXACTLY what happened to mine, but only two of the hairline cracks that you could barely see. i could let the car idle and it would just be a slow oil drip off the back of the block. i replaced it with a non-reinforced s5 rear plate and all was well...

if i had the engine apart i would definitely pin it and cryo treat the rear iron and also add the deck plate.

i definitely don't want it happening again but, well, my time is limited..
