motor not running

i haven't touch my rx-7 car for about a year now and now i'm trying to hook up a haltech program to it. I heard that rotory really sucks when it comes to starting it back up. Wondering if i should leave the oil in or drain the oil out? Can anyone let me know what will happened.

Actually, after sitting for that long you SHOULD remove the oil pan, completely clean it, and then put it back on......

But, you're not going to do that, so.. Change the oil, its settled pretty good and all the heavy stuff is now at the bottom.

Also, you SHOULD drain the old gas out and put a few gallons of new gas in it.

As for the motor.. you SHOULD pull the plugs and put a little bit, i mean a LITTLE bit, less than a mL, of ATF in each housing on each rotor face (turn the motor over by hand, listen for a "pweesh" and squirt a little in the leading plug hole that the air came out for a total of six "pweeshes".. (three on each rotor)) I really Mean it when i say a LITTLE bit, or that sucker will look like a Sherman Tank with a smoke generator on it when it starts!!
