Alright i took my 88 rx7 in to the shop to get a new Master slave put in and i gave very specific instructions to the people about leaving the car inside (not a good neighberhood) and the next day i came to pick up my car somebody hit my car. ramed the **** out of it. and the auto shop refused to pay for it. so i went to the police and they said since its privat property and it was a "hit and run" they couldnt do anything so i got an attorny they couldnt do anything. final thought i hate this world.

Complain to the BBB. The shop is responsible for your car while in their possession. Their insurance should cover it.

Yep the Better Business Bureau can help you and I would say the lawyer you talked to wasn't very good. You could easily sue them and win the money necessary to repair your car to the condition it was in when you brought it to them. A good lawyer would even get you enough to cover his charges and court costs so you would be out nothing, like it should be.

They are liable for any damages to your property while it is in thier care.

I don't know what the laws are where you live but where i live if the vehicle was left on their property and you signed a waiver allowing them to take posetion of your car for purposes of maintenance then they are liable! as the car was in their posetion. this is a binding contract. so the laywer that you talked to isn't very good! I saw try another! and the Better Buisness Bureau can and will help you with that ... they did with me!
