Arrow Most powerful n/a on stock ports

I was just wondering whats the highest hp, both at the flywheel and and the wheels that anyone here has hit on stock ports. I tried searching but the search excludes any word with 2 letters so it was kinda useless (na, hp, n/a)

160-165 wheel hp is not uncommon on s5 engines with all the bolt ons and an safc.

a very well tuned standalone might be able to get in the 180-190 whp region with oem ported manifolds. a good carb (with a costum intake) could probobly get you around 200 wheel, but that would be about as much headache as just porting the irons IMO.

Didn't the s5 have 160 stock? why would you need bolt ons and a fuel comp to have stock hp?

i think he is referring to RWHP where the figures you are thinking of are at the crank.

I hit 160 or just about before the TB knife edging and lightweight flywheel. Clutch was still glazed though from many racing nights before hand. 13.8 average a/f ratio across the board. Dont know where timing was never checked for the life of the car. (stupid)

Mods in sig .... Engine blew shortly after racing in 4th gear around 140mph. Detonated for 15-20 seconds before I shut down. Mabye due to bad timing or running to lean or both. Also my forced air hose blew shut from the wind so that didnt help me get any cool air. Filter sat basically ontop of the header from my custom intake. Didnt come up with heat shield yet.

For a car that dyno's 125 healthy 160rwp is like putting a turbo on a honda. It still could have used a stand alone though. Wanted to hit that 180rwp mark

at 145 mph the car didnt top, there isnt many straightawyas here where you can go flat out. i backed off at 145 since there were turns comming up, i would guess 150-155 top speed when the weather permits...

Based on your 177 RWHP dyno and some mild calculations, your new theoretical top speed should be 149 mph.

I can only redline up to 4th (145mph), when I shift into 5th I can't get the rpm's to go over 5,600rpm (145mph), yet. scathcart, can you tell what kind of power I am pushing from my top speeds?

Sweet, what is stock RWHP on a n/a s5?
I am still thinking of going with nitrous, I will most likely be running a few nitrous kits past you soon about the whats best setup for the power I am looking for. All I have done so far is...

On an S5 N/A mazda reman engine making 125 psi of compression front and rear, 100% stock (including new stock catalytic convertors [I wasn't dumb enough to pay for them... not my car)], I saw 132 hp to the tires, so... I agree.

Cool.
Its quite possible you are over those power levels, but are gear limited in mechanical advantage. Try pushing past redline in fourth.

145mph is at 8k in 4th, one night I was evading the police and was on a very long and straight road I went to 8,400 and I got to 150mph, but when I shifted into 5th it went back to 145mph. I did not think it was to smart to go past redline so I just say my top speed is 145mph, but I have gone a little faster once before. I need to get my S-AFC II put in the car, then I might have a higher top speed, maybe get a 4.30 rear also.
